Your blog is not cutting it anymore.
These words are, we realize, odd since they are written in a blog post.
It’s not just your blog that’s not going to cut it anymore as a source of customer attraction or as a sales tool. It’s anybody’s blog.
Your social media posts alone are still going to drive customers to you, but they cannot be your sole source of marketing. Neither is the long form business content on your website. Simply put, words alone are not going cut it. By cut it, we mean that the written word alone is not going to drive sales and repeated visits to your website, social media page, or business anymore.
According to a 2016 study by Hubspot, only 29% of people surveyed indicated that they would pay attention to blog posts, while 43% said they would skim or ignore it. Same for business content – those wordy explanations of what your business does? Only 32% of people visiting your site will stop to read it, and 41% are going to skim for the big details. Obviously, not a great way to bring back repeated traffic to your site, or get your brand message across.
Your online presence is more important than ever before. It’s not just the advent of a tech-savvy generation who grew up using computers since birth – although that is true – but it’s also because everything is online. You can pay your bills, order groceries, buy pretty much anything you want, or hire one of about a thousand different providers for the service you need. It’s that last point that should motivate any business owner to really care about their online content.
A thousand different providers.
If you have a service, chances are, there’s someone else out there who does it – and even if you’re the best one for the job, if your landing page is not a place that potential customers want to land, then you may not be the one to get the job. More and more, people want to see fresh, updated content. Words and gimmicky gifs were fine in the early 2000’s, when everybody had their own piece of the “World Wide Web” hosted on a free web server, but if you’re in business in 2017, you have to distinguish yourself with the content that people want. According to a 2016 survey, 45% of people surveyed in North America picked video content as the type they wanted to see more of in the future, while only 27% chose blog posts. A staggering 45% of the same folks surveyed said they watch an hour of Facebook videos or Youtube every day. 5 hours a week. 365 hours (roughly the equivalent of 15 days worth of online video watching. Why can’t your videos be part of that 15 days?
So that’s settled. We need video content, and more of it. It’s going to catch your visitors’ attention, keep them engaged, and not only that, it’s what they actually want to see. Now how do you give them the video content that they want?
Your video should be the right length: long enough to convey your message, but not so long that your viewers lose interest. According to a study done by Microsoft and reported in Time Magazine online (2015) average attention span has dropped from 12 seconds to only 8 seconds since the year 2000. It should probably be ad-free, because why would you want to make your customers sit through an advertisement for another business? It should engage your page visitors and make them want to stay on your page to look for more. And it should be your own, unique to you and to your business.
Do you have an event coming up? Can you demo your service? If you’re a party planner, what better way to advertise your business than a live-streamed video of the party you helped to orchestrate? If you’re a baker, what better attractor to potential customers than a video of you pulling piping hot cakes from the oven? A live video can pull in your future customers, and immerse them in the sights, sounds, smells, and full experience of what you have to offer. For past customers, that video reminder of the excellent service you provided them will invoke fond memories and turn them into repeat customers.
Now we get to the big question: how? How do you get the video content you want if you don’t happen to be a trained video producer?
This is exactly why we are in business as ViewItDoIt – we love to bring people the video content that they want or need. Not only can our trained professionals provide live video streaming from anywhere in the world (you read that right – anywhere! Ask us – we’ve tested it!) but we can capture your moments so that you have a variety of film to choose from to use later on your customer landing pages.
Contact us to optimize your landing pages for customer interest, repeat viewing, and maximum sales!

I sit tonight…the night before Mother’s Day…… at home with a sick child, a husband LIVE streaming Chase Rice at the Waterside District, and a mom battling cancer in California. And what I wish more than anything is that I could be with my husband, I could be with my mother, I could be with all the people that I have met throughout my life, all while being by my little one’s side. Because what is family? On the day before Mother’s Day, what is family?
Is it a biological connection? Is it a friend that shows up to hold you when your world seems to be crumbling? Is it a child who looks up at you as you go out to LIVE stream an event (longing for you to come home)?
For me, family is all of the above. It is the late nights working with my husband on our company. It is my mother who calls me just to say I love you. It is my children who hold me with their little hands and love me no matter what. And it is all the friends and connections that reach out to say hi, to smile, to connect, to just be them.
On this day before Mother’s Day, I wish I could be with everyone. I wish I could hold the world and truly tell everyone how honored and blessed I am to know each person I meet. I wish I could connect the world.
But that is why we created ViewItDoIt. We wanted to connect the world. To feel like you could still be with the people you love even if you were miles apart. So tonight….on a momentous night for ViewItDoIt when I am LIVE streaming Chase Rice from the Waterside District….I sit back and smile feeling that I am connected to all the wonderful people I hold dear. As you watch our LIVE feed, I feel as though I am sitting right there with you too. Thank you all for all your love and support. I am so blessed to know each and every one of you and I look forward to all the people I will meet in the future. Happy Mother’s Day!
Friendship is amazing. Family is important. And I’ll tell you a little secret, I was scared when I moved to Virginia over 5 years ago!
I guess I should back up. Over 10 years ago I met the most important man in my life in a six minute speed dating event. Yes…it is true…..6 minutes. 3 months later I was engaged, and 9 months after that I was married (there is a story here)! At the time I lived in Hawaii with family and friends. But then my husband and I took a very big leap of faith. We moved thousands of miles away from the life we new and the friends and family we loved. I was scared, in fact, terrified! A mother of one and one on the way……without family.
I felt alone and I didn’t know what to do. But something amazing happened yesterday. At the end of Uniquely Yours (one of the largest Bridal Expos in all of Hampton Roads), I sat in my car and cried. Not because we didn’t deliver what we promised. We promised to stream Uniquely Yours LIVE from 5 cameras. We did! We promised to be at Uniquely Yours with a welcoming booth. We did! We promised to have a LIVE interview station. We did! I cried because I realized that over the past year, I had found my family. I had found through networking true friends that I could depend on.
From Stage Right Lighting installing my lights, to Waterford Event Rentals lending me linens, to Vivid Expressions giving me a hug and asking how I was doing. I realized that I was surrounded by loved ones. That I had a true family who cared. I realized that I wasn’t just streaming Uniquely Yours for the wonderful men and women of House of Maya. I was streaming this show for all the wonderful vendors who I call family. This was there time to shine. This was my time to show the world, LIVE, all the amazing businesses in Hampton Roads.
That’s why I cried. Friends and family are important. We want to be at events, but sometimes life happens. So we stream your big day LIVE (whether a wedding or an event) so you can share your heart with the people you love. You can put them first and make them feel like they have that front row seat at your big day! You can honor them, by showcasing you. A big thank you to all the wonderful men and women out their who work hard every day to make Hampton Roads so great. Thank you all for your kindness and friendship. We only hope to show that same kindness and friendship with every client we meet.
2017 is just around the corner and I find myself sitting here at my desk, wondering what lies ahead. Change is hard. New is different, but not always good. How do you go forward? How do you push through the unknown, wanting to make a difference, but not knowing where life is going to take you? How do you take a risk when you have small mouths to feed? Who look at you with that constant glimmer of hope and unending love?
But this is exactly how we felt over a decade ago when my husband started LIVE streaming destination vacation locations. It was new, different, and not common. Businesses didn’t always understand it. People didn’t always want it. And just when it finally started to get noticed, my husband and I decided to go a new direction with our LIVE streaming technology and make it portable and controllable for events and weddings!
The unknown and different happened once more. But this time, we had a reason. We had a drive as to why we wanted to LIVE stream weddings and events. When we got married over a decade ago, most of my husband’s family couldn’t attend. They all lived in a different state, and it was too expensive to fly them all out. I remember the heartbreak of not having most of my husband’s family present while cutting the cake. I remember the feeling that someone was missing at our first dance. I remember the extra silence during the toasts.
So my husband and I want to make a difference. We want to change the way that people interact with events. People from around the world should be able to see you walk down the isle, or join you at a wine festival, or follow you through a 5k. Your event shouldn’t be hindered by a power supply or an Internet connection. You shouldn’t feel like you are watching what someone else is shooting. You should have the freedom to use our cameras from your computer or mobile device and zoom in on a cake cutting, or watch the opening speaker at a national convention, or donate to a LIVE auction.
LIVE technology is new, yes. But my husband and I want to make it different. We want to make it social. You should feel like you are there. Even though you missed the event, you still have the front row seat.
So yes, my husband and I willingly take this leap of faith with our company not for us, but for the world. I know what it is like to wish someone could be there. I know the void that feels the air. But for 2017, ViewItDoIt is striving to change the way LIVE technology is used. We want to Stream Your Big Day LIVE, whether a wedding, convention, 5k run, and more. We want to invite the world to your event. Your day and your guests are special.
So hold on 2017. Who knows what lies ahead, but for ViewItDoit, we can’t wait to walk it hand in hand with you.
